About Me

My name is Ivaylo Ivanov. I am currently a student in TU Vienna and work part-time in the IT sphere as a DevOps engineer. In my spare time I enjoy working on side projects, working out, boxing and spending time with friends and family. I am also a huge security and privacy advocate and am part-taking in security related activities in my university.

Maintenance of ÖAMTC core services. Automations (Ansible, AWX), CI/CD systems engineer (Jenkins), container and Kubernetes engineer (OpenShift, ArgoCD).

IT Consultant/DevOps Engineer - ByteSource Technology Consulting (June 2018 - June 2021)

Technical consulting of clients about Atlassian products. CI/CD systems engineer (Jenkins, Bamboo), Cloud and Automation engineer (AWS, Ansible, Hashicorp Vault/Terraform/Consul), Kubernetes engineer (OpenShift, k8s).

Responsible for the development of custom WordPress themes following the requirements of the customer (e.g. LifeBall).

Crew Leader and Server Administrator - Dahoum Limited (September 2013 - September 2015)

Leading 8 members crew consisting of 9 and 10 grade students. Evening on-line standups and progress reviews. Work assignments based on product development plan. On-boarding and mentoring of junior crew members.

Configuration and maintenance of two servers (CentOS w/ Apache, MySQL-as-a-service and Postfix SMTP server). Automatic database and source code backups (GNU bash and PHP scripts using Rackspace Cloud Files as an object storage).

Automization of the ÖBB BCC internal toolchain deployment. Architecting and developing of an Azure DevOps concept that aims to make it possible for external developers to work without the need to connect to the internal ÖBB network while still keeping code on-premise as per the company policy.

BMW in the cloud

BMW in the cloud

Migration of the on-premises Atlassian clusters to the cloud (AWS). The migration consisted mainly of designing the architecture for scalability and high availability, automatization of the infrastructure provisioning (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible with Ansible Tower).

fluidOps (now part of Veritas) - Visualising the cloud

Development of a visualization interface for the ECloud Manager and Information Workbench.
